On October 2023, we officially changed our association’s name from Singapore Industrial Automation Association to AutomationSG.
This significant transformation is the re-birth of modern-day automation.
Decades ago, automation, as a technology enabler was closely associated with manufacturing and industrialisation. In those days, automation machineries were large, hardware-based and mechanical. This notion has since evolved.
Today, automation solutions incorporate intelligent software inclusive of artificial intelligence. Automation is additionally powered by state-of-the art electronics that reduces form factors. Smaller footprints equate to flexibility that fits smaller operating environments. This expands automation usage beyond traditional manufacturing, such as medical robotic surgical keyhole operation.
This combination effectively empowers automation solutions with extended capabilities, and renders automation suitable for an endless list of industries. As an example, automation is vastly utilized in verticals like building and facilities management, agritech, cleaning and waste management, transport and logistics, medical and more.
With this rebrand, AutomationSG will also be expanding our charter from automation-centric vendors, to include end-users as well. The highly-valued programs and activities that we organise will create ecosystems and partnerships, where we will emphasise the RIGHT-FIT automation solutions to cross pollinate technology, know-how and desired outcomes. We are excited to spearhead automation advocacy in this technology-driven era.
Lastly, we would like to take the opportunity to thank Marshall Cavendish Business Information for including AutomationSG in Singapore Electronic Industry Directory 2024/25.
